Car auto shop Peninsula Auto Zone clocked up its 20,000th car wash this week, after recently celebrating its second year of operations.

Rothwell resident, Joanne Hall received a free Gold Wash when she came to pick up her Corolla Seca, when staff noticed her invoice numbered her car as # 20,000.

Peninsula Auto Zone Manager Sarah Reberger said the past two years had been fantastic for business, exceeding their business plan from the first month and continuing to perform well even during the slow Christmas and January period.

“I know a lot of operators on the peninsula have experienced tough times, and we are counting our lucky stars that we haven’t been caught out,” Ms Reberger said.  

“We downsized a little in October, predicting the worst, but now we’re recruiting again as demand has exceeded expectations.”

Ms Hall was delighted her car was the 20,000th through the gates, and has joined the PAZ Customer Loyalty Program as well.  She received a pack of free car washes, including a Gold and Platinum car wash, to the value of $100.

“I have brought three cars into PAZ in the past week, having a large family.  With three kids, it’s just so convenient to bring car over, have the people at PAZ clean them up, and check them for other issues if I need them to, so I can be doing other things,” Ms Hall said.

“Now I’ve joined the VIP club, I’ll get my car serviced here too, it’s due for one.”

M Reberger said the Hose Down held as fund raiser for The Redcliffe Hospital in October had probably boosted numbers along a bit quicker than expected, when they washed 217 in two days.
